Short version: Background Remover Pro processes your images entirely inside your browser. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store any of your data, your images, or your personal information. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party services, and no tracking of any kind.
What this policy covers
This policy describes how the Background Remover Pro Chrome extension (the "Extension") and this website (the "Site") handle information.
Data the Extension collects
None. The Extension does not collect, log, transmit, or store any personal information, identifiers, images, or usage data. All image processing happens locally on your device using standard web technologies (Canvas and JavaScript). The images you load into the Extension are read into a temporary in-browser canvas and discarded when you close the editor or load a different image.
Network access
The Extension does not contact any server we control. It makes outbound network requests only when you explicitly choose to load an image by URL using the Load URL input. In that case, your browser fetches the image from the URL you provided directly to your browser — no proxy, no intermediary, no logging by us. We do not see, receive, or store the URL or the image.
Permissions the Extension requests
Chrome requires the Extension to declare permissions in its manifest. We request the minimum necessary to make the editor work:
contextMenus— to add the "Remove background" option when you right-click an image on the web.storage— reserved for future user preferences; not currently used to record anything.tabs— to open the editor in a new tab when you click the toolbar icon or pick the right-click option.host_permissions: <all_urls>— required so the editor can fetch an image when you right-click it on a third-party site or paste a URL. The fetch happens in your browser; the image is never sent to us.
Data the Site collects
This marketing site is intentionally minimal. We host static pages and use no analytics, no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no third-party tags. Standard server access logs may be kept by our hosting provider (Vercel/Netlify/etc.) for operational purposes such as protecting against abuse; we do not access or use those logs for any other purpose.
Children's privacy
The Extension is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
Third parties
We do not share, sell, or transfer any data with third parties — because we have no data to share. The Extension does not embed any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics libraries.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the Extension or Site handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing.
