Are my images uploaded anywhere?+
No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your computer. The only outbound network request is when you explicitly load an image by URL, in which case the image is fetched directly to your browser.
Do I need to sign up or pay?+
No. Background Remover Pro is completely free, with no account, login, subscription, or credit card. There are no usage quotas, no premium tier, and no ads.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. Once installed, the extension works fully offline. The only feature that needs internet access is the Load URL input, which fetches an image you specifically point it at.
What image formats are supported?+
Any format your browser can decode — JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP. Output is always PNG so transparency is preserved.
Why does my cutout look rough on some images?+
The background remover is color-based, so it works best on photos with clean, uniform backgrounds. For cluttered scenes, try increasing the tolerance, adding edge feathering, or cropping closer to the subject.
Can I remove a watermark from any image?+
Yes — but the cleanest results come from watermarks placed over relatively smooth or low-texture areas. Watermarks across very detailed scenery may leave a faint smudge in the patched region.
